This group of students is taking to the stage after 8 weeks of learning the foundations of improv comedy and connecting with each other. Come support your friends and family do something that scares most people more than death. Flowers and high-fives encouraged!

The show is 1.5 hrs. A selection of refreshments will be available for purchase and free parking is located in the front lot, streets and if not too muddy, the dirt lot adjacent to the building. We encourage you to celebrate with your friends and family after the show at another location. We highly recommend The Riverside Hotel as it is all ages, within walking distance, and has incredible food, drink and atmosphere.

Broken Resolutions Comedy Show

Start the year with a night of laughter at Recycled Minds with our show: Broken Resolutions, a comedy show blending improv, storytelling, and stand-up. Through honest and hilarious moments, the performers explore the highs and lows of New Year’s ambitions—what works, what doesn’t, and how the unplanned often shapes our best stories. It’s a celebration of life’s twists and turns, reminding us that even in our missteps, there’s humor and heart to be found.

Level 2 is taking our play to the next level. We want to engage our creativity and imagination, have fun, cast off judgment and enter into a deeper level of play! Students should know the principles of improv by heart and be able to implement them into their scenework and games. Level 2 is an exploration of games and how to overcome challenges with playfulness and courage!

Level 3 continues exploring more shortform games, discovering our strengths and weaknesses and implementing the foundations of improv into every game and scene. This takes the fun of play in Level 2 to the stage. We’ll discover our play style, explore how emotion can be a super tool in your improv tool belt and practice hosting games.

The Intro to Longform class is all about shifting mindset and approach from shortform games to longform formats. Taking this class will beef up your base improv toolkit while also adding new, foundational tools of longform like various scene transitions, structure, how to go beyond the crescendo of a scene and how to build dynamic characters as well as learning the principles of storytelling and the Armando format.

Must have graduated the Shortform program (L5) or the instructor’s permission.

This course builds on the fundamentals of longform, focusing on stronger scene craft, smarter connections, and intentional choices. We’ll reinforce core skills—listening, point-of-view, grounded characters, and group mind—while introducing new tools for supporting sustained, cohesive shows and lineup creation. Students will explore multiple longform structures and then train in the format used most frequently in our main stage performances. Expect detailed notes, honest feedback, and reps that push your awareness, creativity, and confidence.

Must have completed Longform Level 1: The Armando or get the instructor’s permission.

Level 4 will focus more on scenework and hone our skills as actors. We’ll learn more theater techniques, develop interesting characters, try impressions, expand our scenes with POV, and master shortform game hosting. We’ll also introduce a variety of new shortform games and how to include audience participation and banter. 

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

• Implement the principles of improv, especially CROWN and the Reveal, into every scene.
• Incorporate more physicality and spacework.
• Include Point of View and thinking-outside-the-box.
• Have a variety of characters you feel comfortable playing that are unlike your own personality.
• Have even deeper connections and chemistry on stage with your scene partners.
• Play on any shortform stage, even with players you’ve never met before!
